Moms will be celebrated with special activities at Jellystone Park Camp-Resort locations across the country during Mother’s Day weekend.
“Our tradition is to welcome moms with a gift as soon as they check in,” said Trent Hershenson, vice president of marketing for Camp Jellystone, the Southfield, Michigan-based company that franchises Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts across North America. All mothers staying at a Jellystone Park location Mother’s Day weekend will receive a free color changing Jellystone Park Mom cup.
Mother’s Day weekend activities at locations include everything from special crafts to mommy and me look-alike contests to “Moms Only” painting activities. Activities vary by location with some parks offering competitive events and movie nights. Here’s a sampling of some of the Mother’s Day weekend activities planned at Jellystone Park this year:
— Big Prairie, Ohio: Activities at this location include crafts for mom, a pastel tie dye activity, and a themed movie.
— Binghamton, New York: This location has lots of sweet activities to celebrate Mother’s Day weekend including a “Death by Chocolate” eating contest, candy bar bingo, and a chocolate slide. Guests can also sign up to have a chocolate gram delivered to Mom by one of the Jellystone Park characters.
— Burleson, Texas: Activities at this location include handmade crafts for children to make for their moms, a “Mini Me” dress like mom contest, and a Mother’s Day wagon ride. Moms will also have a chance to participate in the park’s annual “My Mom Ain’t No Sissy” challenge in which moms demonstrate what it takes to be a mom through a series of fun and engaging tasks that celebrate the strength and awesomeness of motherhood. Guests will also be encouraged to serenade mom with a special performance of her favorite song on the Star Struck Karaoke Stage.
— Chincoteague Island, Virginia: A full day of activities is planned at this location, including crafts, games, and muffins with mom.
— Frankenmuth, Michigan: Special activities for mom and the kids on Saturday at this location include a Mother’s Day craft activity. Sunday’s activities include a pancake breakfast with free pancakes for mom.
— Grayling, Michigan: This location’s Renaissance Revival Weekend coincides with Mother’s Day. Activities there include designing your own coat of arms, crafting a personal princess crown, and treating mom like a queen in honor of Mother’s Day. Other activities include pool noodle jousting and a javelin toss. Moms will also be able to enjoy some peace and quiet during a painting activity.
— Larkspur, Colorado: Activities at this location include flower planting, Mother’s Day tea and cookies, and a “silly selfies with mom” scavenger hunt.
— Madison, Maine: Guests at this location can make a craft for mom and participate in mom and child games. There will also be a paint class for moms.
— Mexico, New York: This location will have its fourth annual “Sip ’n Paint” event. Massages will also be available for moms.
— Mill Run, Pennsylvania: At this location, kids can make mom a present during a craft activity. Guests can also take mom to dinner at the Cindy Bear Country Kitchen restaurant and moms will receive a free dessert.
— Pierceton, Indiana: Guests at this location are encouraged to get their noisemakers out to wake up Yogi Bear for Mother’s Day weekend. Guests will also be able to join Yogi Bear and his friends in a parade and participate in various Mother’s Day challenges versus the kids.
— Plymouth, Indiana: This location will pamper moms with a “pretty in pink” weekend. Activities include pretty in pink games and a pink outfit competition. Moms also get to watch an outdoor movie with popcorn. There will also be a family DJ dance on Saturday night.
— South Haven, Michigan: This location will provide free chair massages for moms on Saturday. Moms will also be able to enjoy a craft activity with a glass of sparkling juice, cheese and crackers.
— Tabor City, North Carolina: Activities at this location include a “Moms Night Out” for painting and snacks. Breakfast deliveries can also be arranged to surprise moms on Sunday morning.
