This summer and fall, The Woodstock Inn & Resort is partnering with two renowned local organizations, the Vermont Institute of Natural Sciences (VINS) and King Arthur Flour to provide hands-on exploration for nature lovers and bakers.
President and General Manager Werner Graef linked the new partnerships to the growing trend of experiential travel, a cornerstone of the Woodstock Inn and Resort since its inception in 1793, and supported by a travel trends report in April of this year by Forbes magazine. Indicating travelers are looking for both active vacations and cooking and culinary programs, the report stated, “…travelers are seeking out ways to stay active and healthy on the road, carving out time for bike rides, hiking, and water sports. A cooking class can reflect the spirit of a place that you can recreate yourself when you get home.”
Skilled craftsman at King Arthur Flour offer tips and techniques to visitors with more than 20 classes and demonstrations a month at The Baking Education Center. Guests can fulfill their desires to be a top pastry chef or learn the basics. The facility is located in Norwich, Vermont just 20 minutes from The Inn.
The package includes:
- One night accommodation for two (weekends may require two night minimum)
- Country breakfast in the Red Rooster restaurant
- Choice of a three or four hour baking class at the King Arthur Flour Baking Education Center
- Midweek and weekend classes are available. Calendar of classes can be found at www.kingarthurflour.com/baking/baking-education-center-calendar
Rates start at $397 per room, based on double occupancy excluding applicable taxes, gratuities, and resort fee.
Guests of Woodstock Inn can explore nature at its finest with an outdoor adventure with a guided hike from VINS. The Inn will supply the luxury and VINS will supply the adventure.
The adventure includes:
- Two nights accommodations for two

- A Wine & Dine Saturday evening at The Inn’s Red Rooster restaurant and discussion of the hike with the guide and other guests.
