The Big Apple is famous for delicious food and its equally amazing Broadway shows! So why not combine two of the greatest activities in New York City? Local dessert tour company, Sugartooth Tours, is doing just that and just in time for the holiday season with visions of sugar plums dancing, is introducing the ‘Bright Lights and Broadway Bites Dessert Tour.’

The duo behind Sugartooth Tours, Sarah Rolleston and Allyson Tolbert, have the chops (no pun intended) and background when it comes to theater and what tastes great. The two have traveled the country touring in theater productions, performed in NYC and tried every dessert possible along the way! The experience resulted in their newest tour, which is perfect for both locals and tourists alike! Currently, Rolleston and Tolbert are active NYC actors and founders of Sugartooth Tours. The ladies have also starred in various local NYC productions and national productions. Local productions include: Musicals Tonight, For Goodness Sake, and Fiddler on the Roof to name a few. National Broadway productions include: The Producers, Beauty and the Beast and Catch Me if You Can.

“What we’ve found on a handful of our tours is that a lot of guests are really interested in our background as New York actors and the history around Broadway,” said Sarah Rolleston, co-founder of Sugartooth Tours. “And what the public wants, the public gets! We thought it would be fun to combine our delicious tours with the history behind the bright lights and feature some tasty stops on the way,” added Tolbert.

So what can one expect on this tour? Each tour will be guided by real NYC actors who are also licensed tour guides through the Theater District for the inside scoop on Broadway and the theatre district’s history. Also along the way, interesting tid-bits will be shared about the shows that are currently playing on Broadway. Tour-goers are encouraged to catch a tour before or after a matinee on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. The tour will run year-round and tickets will be available the first week in November.

“Guests are guaranteed to have a great time on this tour. Whether you’re a theater buff or a dessert connoisseur, we have you covered! We’re excited to share insider info, like where you can spot Broadway stars, and of course there’s dessert!” continued Rolleston. “We’ll be focusing on New York classics as well as some unusual finds as we stop at classic delis, old school favorite theater haunts, and tucked away bakeries.”

Sure there may be other Theater District/Broadway walking tours, but there’s only one that gives you a literal taste of NYC and a first-hand background on what goes on behind the red curtain. Sugartooth Tours has your ticket.

Sugartooth Tours Offers Special Valentine’s Day Programs in February Made Sweeter Still for Donation to Local Charity

February 4, 2014

What could be sweeter than spending the day with your Valentine and tasting a variety of New York City’s finest decadent treats? And how about giving back to a great cause? Do both this February with Sugartooth Tours’ Valentine’s Day tour. This annual seasonal tour features a plethora of tasty treats, as well as an equally sweet donation to House of the Roses, a local non-profit that offers homeless and at-risk children free weekly on-site dance workshops at partner outreach facilities, such as homeless shelters and community centers throughout New York City, as well as performance opportunities at outside locations. For each tour ticket sold in the month of February, $1 will be donated to the charity.

“We’re very excited to include a charity contribution with the Valentine’s Day Tour,” said Allyson Tolbert, co-founder of Sugartooth Tours. “February and Valentine’s Day is all about showing love, so this is the perfect opportunity to tie-in a charity aspect for House of the Roses, which makes a significant contribution to local youth. Also, myself and Sarah are both trained actresses and dancers, so this non-profit hits close to home.”

Featured on this year’s tour are six tastings, including chocolate truffles, hot chocolate, cupcakes, cookies and more. Also included is the option to add a wine/beer paring at the tour’s final destination to allow for more one-on-one time with a special someone.

The tour, which starts in the trendy Chelsea neighborhood, lasts approximately 2- 2 ½ hours and covers 1.5 miles of walking with stops along the way. Guests walk down the High Line, and end in the West Village. In addition to scrumptious sweets, guests will also learn culinary and cultural history at each stop, and a few tidbits and facts about Valentine’s Day and it’s history.

To keep it fresh, Sugartooth Tours has changed the route completely from last year’s Valentine’s Day tour to keep the selections, and the experience new. Last year’s tour featured the company’s Hell’s Kitchen route, and this year is an entirely new neighborhood!

“At Sugartooth Tours our goal is to create experiences that allow customers to come back for more than just one tour. We frequently change up our tours to feature new neighborhoods and desserts. This keeps the experience fresh and evolving,” said Sarah Rolleston, co-owner of Sugartooth Tours. “Plus, with New York being so large, there are always hidden gems that we discover when researching for our tours.”

This year’s Valentine’s Day tours are scheduled for February 8th, 9th, 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th. Tours run at 5:30pm. Tickets are $50 without the pairing, or $70 with the pairing and can be purchased by visiting www.sugartoothtours.com.

Sugartooth Tours specializes in dessert tasting food tours in New York City. A perfect excursion for all ages, and for locals and visitors to the Big Apple alike! The company’s tours are small in size with no more than 16 people per group for an intimate experience. Sugartooth Tours are dedicated to appealing to the sweet tooth in everyone, providing high quality tastings, superior customer service, and friendly and informed licensed tour guides.

Take Me Out, a NYC nightlife tour company takes guests to the hottest spots around the city, handling everything from limousine transportation to reservations at each stop.

While it may be a nightlife tour, Take Me Out is aimed at everyone, not just tourists. The company prides itself on providing an alternative way to explore the city’s nightlife that won’t have you waiting in line outside for hours.

“Take Me Out is a great way for everyone to experience New York City and we are actually one of the only night life tours in the city, said Mor “What makes us stand out is that we take our guests to exclusive places. These are places you can’t get in without a reservation. It definitely has a VIP feel.”

One of the Take Me Out’s tours includes the popular Mixology tour. This particular tour includes two charted limos, guides who whip up great drinks for tour-goers along the way, and stops at some of the city’s trendiest bars.

If you’re the type who is looking for something a little different, try the company’s most popular tour, the Prohibition Tour. This tour transports you back to the 1920’s and takes you to secret bars and hidden speakeasies throughout the city. Along the way, sip champagne, enjoy the limo ride, and learn about the era as you visit each stop.

Other tours include their nightclub tour for those who love to dance, and a singles social tour.

“The goal with launching this company is that I wanted to create something that guests could enjoy and that stood out from the typical nightlife experience in the city,” continued Mor. “Everyone enjoys the tours, both locals and tourists. They are also perfect for events like birthday parties, and with wedding season right around the corner, it’s the perfect idea for a bachelor or bachelorette party!”

Take Me Out Tours currently offers five tours, but also offers custom events. Attendees can expect on average three stops per tour and each starts from $100-$150 per person. Tours run most nights of the week, starting as early as 5pm, with most starting around 9pm.
