Kuwait Airways reportedly is terminating service between New York JFK and London Heathrow after the US government threatened legal action over its refusal to sell tickets to Israelis, according to ETN Global Travel Industry News.
On October 29, US Department of Transportation ordered Kuwait Airways to “cease and desist from refusing to transport Israeli citizens between the U.S. and any third country where they are allowed to disembark.”
“Today, Kuwait Airways informed the U.S. Department of Transportation that they will be eliminating service between JFK and London Heathrow,” the US DOT spokeswoman said.
“At the moment, however, the airline will continue to operate its thrice-weekly Kuwait City-New York JFK service, with just the second (and final) leg of its thrice weekly Kuwait City-London Heathrow-New York JFK service affected,” ETN reported (www.eturbonews.com).
